164. The Natural

John Nesbitt, Chester Hanzer, Rudy Walden, et. al.: Interstate Transportation in Aid of Racketeering, Extortion, Sports Bribery.
Original air date: 14 March 1971.
This fairly topical episode deals with the FBI investigating sports bribery, racketeering and extortion. Inspector Lewis Erskine rescues a kidnap victim and stops an attempt to fix a college basketball game.
- No interesting cars. This may be a so-so story, but this episode is definitely a view of how things were in 1971. ABC was known for its extensive sports coverage, and the network covered college sports quite a bit in 1971.
- Two notable 1970s TV performers appear here: Vic Tayback (Alice) and John Sylvester-White (Welcome Back, Kotter).
- And once again, Peter Mark Richman makes an appearance on the series!
