187. The Test
Original air date: 20 February 1972
Rerun 2 July 1972
Inspector Lew Erskine attempts to keep Paul Hale under survaillence as he sets out to pay the ransom for his father.
- We cannot verify if this is the case, but it appears this episode was the final appearance of veteran actor Kenneth MacDonald, who played in many Three Stooges shorts, as well as on Perry Mason. Mr. MacDonald died on 5 May 1972, three days after J. Edgar Hoover. Ironically, in the 1955 Three Stooges short Blunder Boys, he has the role of "F.B. Eye."
- Once again, Bill Quinn makes an appearance; he is Bob Newhart's father-in-law.
