Today marks the 76th anniversary of the birth of actor Shelly Novack, who played Agent Chris Daniels on The FBI. Born in Los Angeles on 10 January 1944, he had a real passion for sports, given his background.
Mr. Novack replaced William Reynolds for Season 9; Mr. Reynolds’ age was cited as a factor. Shelly Novack’s tenure on the series was short, at 23 episodes. Sadly, he passed away from a heart attack on 27 May 1978 at age 34, leaving behind a wife and daughter.
That said, he provided a welcome presence to the series, and his role reflected the changes going on with the Bureau after J. Edgar Hoover’s passing. All the best to the actor and his family!
