A desperate father jeopardizes the life of his kidnapped son when he defies F.B.I. warnings to keep the story out of the media. An intense, violent episode that features many excellent actors.
- This episode marks the first appearance of William Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds had a role in the 1963 movie FBI Code 98, a precursor of The FBI. With the third season, William Reynolds would star as Special Agent Tom Colby and stay on until 1973. He would make two appearances in that role in the final season of 1973-1974.
- 1966 was a busy year for Mr. Reynolds. He would make a second appearance on The FBI in the following season. Mr. Reynolds also had a role in the Walt Disney film, Follow Me, Boys!
- Guest star Garry Walberg was known for playing Speed in the sitcom The Odd Couple, and Lt. Monihan in the series Quincy ME.
- Wayne Rogers makes his first appearance on the series. Known for his role on M*A*S*H, Mr. Rogers also starred in the 1975 Quinn Martin FBI production, Attack on Terror: The FBI vs. the Ku Klux Klan.
- Ed Asner also makes his first appearance here. He would go on to play Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and on a show bearing his character’s name. Mr. Asner was working on the 1967 Western El Dorado around the time this aired.
- Lew Ayres makes his one and only appearance on the show. The veteran actor (1908-1996) began his career in 1929, and had been working in television for some time. Interestingly, after two failed marriages earlier in his life, he remarried in 1964 and had a son. That marriage lasted until he died.
- Kurt Russell had a recurring role as the son of Lt. Philip Gerard on The Fugitive. Already a busy child actor, he remains a very busy 60-something actor (approaching 70) even today.
- Writer Anthony Spinner went on to become producer for Season 9 of The FBI.
- No interesting cars but a nice accident upending a 1957 Ford.
Babe alert: Judee Morton, who goes on to make other appearances on the series.
