Eighty-nine years ago today, William deClerq Regnolds made his debut into this earthly life in Los Angeles. Upon entering the movies around 1950, he was rechristened William Reynolds, and made a number of movies and TV appearances (including a memorable one on The Twilight Zone) before becoming involved with The FBI.
And that association began well before the series started in 1965.
Around the end of 1961 or the start of 1962 (we don’t have a precise time), Warner Brothers began filming a movie, FBI Code 98, that would serve as a launching pad for a TV series about the agency. While Mr. Reynolds had a supporting role, his presence was truly memorable. Chances are that role was a factor in his guest role on The FBI on 10 April 1966. After another guest role on the series in Season 2 (27 November 1966), he would play SAC Tom Colby for the remainder of the series, first as a regular in Seasons 3 through 8, then in guest spots in Season 9.
And he remains the one major male lead who remains with us, and he turns 89 today! We wish him all the very best on this day, and wish both him and his family all the best for the holiday season and 2021!!!
