Case file: #9-74219-C
Howard Spencer Collier Jr.: Extortion.
Original broadcast date: 12 December 1965
Inspector Lew Erskine and Special Agent Jim Rhodes hunt a young man involved with railroad sabotage. The bad guy is a 20-year-old psychopath who is trying to blow up a train. Maybe he worked for General Motors!
- The ’57 Ranchero is in the street scene where the mother of the bad guy buys a newspaper.
- SPOILER: One of the scenes involves the bad guy crashing a toy train, just like Gomez Addams (played by John Astin) did in The Addams Family. That show also ran on ABC in the 1965-66 season. Only difference was, this was not done for comic effect.
- Speaking of other ABC shows, David Macklin, who would go on to star in four other FBI episodes, had a starring role in the ABC comedy Tammy, which ran on Friday nights on ABC in 1965-1966. Mr. Macklin died on 6 April 2017 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- Noah Keen makes the second of his many appearances.
