Case file: #65-9525-X
The Doriskin Papers: Espionage.
Original broadcast date: 17 April 1966
Charles Bronson played Earl Clayton, a bank robber and escapee. Clayton is the kind of bank robber from the days of John Dillinger, Pretty Boy Floyd, George “Machine Gun Kelly” and “Baby Face” Nelson. He does NOT drive an old Ford car from the 1930s, however. He uses a 1966 Ford Falcon station wagon which he manages to get stuck in the snow.
Mr. Bronson gives a good performance here. You can see why he became a superstar in the 1970s. He plays a real baddy, yet one likes watching him. The snowy locales are a welcome touch to a good episode.
- Tim McIntire played the lead on American Hot Wax (1978).
- James Doohan (1920-2005), of course, would play Scotty on the original Star Trek series (1966-69). He makes the first of two appearances this season.
