A long-lost daughter helps the F.B.I. unmask a Communist spy who has taken the identity of a dead American.
- Second appearance of three by English actor Michael Rennie, who now sports an updated hairstyle. It is also the second to last guest appearance on a TV show (yep, his last was also on The FBI). In this episode, he suffers from an ulcer. In real life, he was fighting the emphysema that would eventually kill him on 10 June 1971.
- Once again, Harold Gould makes an appearance here, this time as a baddie.
The Avengers connection
Beginning with this episode, The FBI had a real connection with a British television show that debuted on ABC during the same season: The Avengers. Robert Day, who had directed some episodes of the UK series in 1967, was brought in by Quinn Martin Productions to helm some FBI episodes. This was the first of nine FBI episodes he would oversee.
Mr. Day married actress Dorothy Provine in 1968,and they remained married until her death in 2010 at age 75. Mr. Day passed away on 17 March 2017. They are the parents of one child.
