John Thomas Whiting: Espionage—Murder.
Original air date: 28 April 1968
This episode was not rerun.
Inspector Lewis Erskine uncovers a Communist spy ring. Someone’s pretty wife is the lure in blackmailing top secret information. One contractor has already been murdered, and another one is being shaken down. The episode boasts a fine cast, and is a great ending to a good season.
- No 1957 Ford Ranchero, but Suzanne Pleshette! Much prettier than any car! She is gorgeous looking in this episode, but does not seem to be doing a whole lot here. She plays the widow of the murdered contractor.
- 1959 Alert! John Thomas Whiting has an alias of Hardesty. This is the same surname as the character Jimmy Stewart played in The FBI Story!
- This episode was rerun on TV Land in 2000 or 2001 as part of a special event. We hope to get more information on this.
- Norman Fell makes the second of his three appearances on this series. And is his moustache weird looking!
- Richard Anderson makes the second appearance on this show this season, and the third overall. He continued to make guest appearances all the way to the final season.
