Miguel Ramos Valdez: Assaulting a Federal Officer—Murder.
Original air date: 29 September 1968
Assistant Director Arthur Ward, Inspector Lew Erskine and Agent Tom Colby track down an oil field killer.
- No interesting cars or helicopters, but lots of action. Tom Colby goes undercover as an oilfield roughneck. Inspector Erskine rides horses and tames wild dogs. Assistant Director Ward walks around and well-acts like Mr. Ward. The bad guys blow up an oil well to cover up financial misdeeds.
- The assault on a federal officer was on Colby, and the bad guy killed a Border Patrol agent. Therefore, the FBI has primary jurisdiction for this crime of murder.
- Armando Silvestre makes the first of two appearances in the series. The Mexican actor, born 6 January 1926, appeared in the cult film The Batwoman earlier in 1968. His career began in 1947, and he made television appearances as late as 2017. As of August 2019, he is still alive.
