Harold Dale Converse: Fugitive—Bank Embezzlement.
Original air date: 10 November 1968
Rerun 29 June 1969
FBI Inspector Lewis Erskine hunts down a bank embezzler and also tries to protect him from criminals helping in his escape.
- Fourth episode of five for actress Lee Meriwether. She later starred in the Quinn Martin show, Barnaby Jones, where she played Betty Jones, Barnaby’s daughter-in-law and his partner in crime solving. Ms. Meriwether had played Inspector Erskine’s love interest, Joanna Laurens, in the first season. She would make one more appearance in the seventh season.
- Speaking of Lee Meriwether, her character in this episode spends all her time in an iron lung. The actress was prone the whole time of shooting. Both William Windom and Efrem Zimbalist Jr. tormented Ms. Meriwether off-screen by tickling her feet!!
- This episode is the second to last appearance of Mr. Windom, who would go on to star in the acclaimed series My World And Welcome To It in 1969-70.
- Bruce Dern makes the second of his two appearances on the series. He took Burt Reynolds’ role in Once Upon A Time … In Hollywood when Mr. Reynolds died. That movie made reference to The FBI. In fact, Mr. Dern’s character makes a point of seeing the series!
- Bell 47G 3B-1 helicopter FAA number N73957 in this episode. Not the same one used in “The Ninth Man.”
