Robert Charles Pollard, William Fremont Quine, George J. Hoyer: Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property—Murder.
Original air date: 28 September 1969
Erskine and Colby are pursuing swindler Robert Charles Pollard (Peter Donat). One man is dead, a banker who had embezzled after being taken in by one of Pollard’s schemes. Now, Pollard is targeting a bank run by Kate Burke, a former flame. Pressure increases on Pollard after a confederate dies from a fall while fleeing from the law. The question is whether the bureau can catch up to Pollard before he completes another swindle.
Once again, we have a top-notch cast of guest performers, beginning with Peter Donat. A nephew of Oscar-winning UK actor Robert Donat, this Canadian-born actor had a distinguished career both in film and in the theatre. He died in 2018 at age 90.
And we have the lovely Vera Miles, who plays the former flame. She had notable roles in such films as The Searchers (1956) and Psycho (1960), as well as appearances in such shows as The Twilight Zone. Her last role was in 1995. On 23 August 2019, she turned 90 years young.
- William Schallert appeared in many guest spots on TV. He had a starring role in ABC’s The Patty Duke Show (1963-66). He remained a well-known presence on TV and in the movies until his passing in 2016.
