George C. Breen: Fugitive—Fraud Against the Government—Conspiracy—Bond Default.
Original air date: 4 October 1970
Accountant George C. Breen and wife jump bail to Portland in a 1957 Ford Panel Truck, light blue in color. Problem is, Breen’s wife is pregnant, and in danger of losing the child. They end up staying in Portland, when she runs into complications.
Inspector Erskine. of course, manages to nab Breen, but not without trouble from one of his relatives, who works for the Mob.
- Marge Redmond had a role in the 1967-70 ABC series The Flying Nun. Her appearance “out of habit” seems ironic, given the radical changes taking place in the Roman Catholic Church around this time.
- Harry Guardino (1925-1995) is the closest person The FBI has to a connection to The Avengers, along with director Robert Day. He once dated Linda Thorson, who played Tara King on the series. He also played District Attorney Hamilton Burger in the 1973-74 revival of Perry Mason.
