Inspector Lew Erskine is on the hunt for a conman who preys on lonely women. This con man is also wanted for murder in the Commonwealth of Virginia. One cool car is Ms. Hartley’s Ford Thunderbird four-door sedan (always a cool car).
- This episode was Phyllis Kirk’s final appearance in an acting role; she passed away on 19 October 2006 at age 79. Ms. Kirk retired from acting altogether after this episode. The actress, born in New Jersey and a native of Syracuse, NY, had the female lead in The Thin Man (1957-1959), opposite Peter Lawford. In that series, she played Nora Charles.
- Mariette Hartley would receive notoriety as James Garner’s foil in Polaroid commercials that aired in the 1970s. Ms. Hartley, who turned 66 in 2006, began her acting career in 1962, and appeared on such shows as The Twilight Zone. She makes the first of two appearances; her second appearance is in “The Double Play,” which aired 4 February 1973. Stuart Whitman also starred in that episode!!
