KENNETH MEADE, EARL GAINEY, ET AL: Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property—Interstate Transportation of Stolen Motor Vehicle
Original air date: 1 October 1972
Rerun 15 April 1973
Inspector Lew Erskine pursues Ken Meade’s gang after the robbery of a valuable statue from a New York City art auction. They end up injuring one of the guards.
One of the robbers is gunned down, and ends up dying in New Jersey—or so it seems. The gang then goes on to Atlanta. Meanwhile, in New York, the good inspector encounters an art curator (Mulhare) who has had a prior run-in with him. They soon meet up again, under less than ideal conditions.
Meantime, the bad guys are getting shot at, even as they are casing the Atlanta gallery. Oh, and there’s insurance fraud, too. And the dead guy? He pulls a Lazarus, and shows up when the Atlanta museum is robbed. A truly fine episode with interesting twists.
